Keeping in line with the same format we had with Season 2, Season 3 teams can compete over 5 weeks to earn qualification to the UK Masters Cups Finals, where teams will battle it out for their share of £1,700, on top of the prize money awarded each week for 1st and 2nd place!
Each week’s format will be dependent on the number of signups, ranging from Round-Robin groups, to Double Elimination, to Single Elimination, depending on what fits best each week.
Teams will still be awarded the same prize-money for coming in the Top 2 positions each week, but points will be handed out to all teams that compete.
On conclusion of the 5-week season a 6th invite-only week will occur that will be the big prize-pot cup! — Additional prizes will be handed out to the top 8 teams according to where they finish — so even if you’re not coming in the Top 2 every week you still have a chance to win something at the end of the Season.
Overwatch is back again, this time on a Friday night to make sure we’re not clashing with our friends over at the NUEL and means we can be a little more flexible with our late night scheduling! (Though Em tells me she’s got the knives out for anyone thinking of being late this season) – Games begin on the 11th of May.
Alongside Overwatch, we’re introducing a new title to the UK Masters Repertoire; Rocket League!
We’ve had a steady Rocket League community at Insomnia events in the past and we’d like to give something back and add a little consistency to our Rocket League circuit with these cups, so hopefully you’ll join us soon each Wednesday night starting on the 9th of May.
Dota 2 also returns, this time taking place on Sundays, starting Sunday 13th of May at 1pm. So if you’re still craving some competitive Dota after Saturday’s Battle Cups you know where to find us!
You can sign up either over at UKMasters.gg and following the links there, or get involved over at our discord where you can find more announcements and direct links to each of our UK Masters tournaments.
